Meari Ono – Physiotherapist
Meari is an advanced physiotherapist and clinical lead at Sportsmed. She graduated from University of Otago in 2012 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, and from Auckland University of Technology with a Postgraduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2019. She has experience working as a physio in both Christchurch and Tokyo. Whilst based in Tokyo, she balanced a clinical load with working with professional athletes on the ITF circuit and LPGA tour throughout Asia. Locally, Meari has worked in premier level rugby. She has a personal background in rowing, netball and running. Meari is interested in working with patients to not only address current injuries and discomfort but finding out the ‘why’ in injuries to prevent re-occurrence and improve performance. Meari is an IFOMT accredited manual therapist, qualified in dry needling extremities and can consult in Japanese. She has a love of the outdoors with a recently acquired passion for surfing and diving.
