I’m not a sports person – can I be treated at SportsMed?

Yes, we see all people needing help with an injury, including children.

How do I know who I need to see – there’s so much choice?

Our friendly reception team will ask you some brief initial questions to work out who it’s best for you to see. Once you’re at that first appointment our expertly trained clinicians will decide who is best to provide any ongoing treatment

How much will it cost me?

Our fees vary depending on which type of clinician you see, whether it’s an ACC claim or private consultation and whether it’s your first or a follow up appointment. Just give us a call and we’ll be happy to talk through our price range.

What payment methods can I use?

Payment by EFTPOS credit or debit card (including American Express) or cash is required at the time of consultation. We also accept payment direct into our bank account, the account details are:

Outstanding bills incur a $10 per month administration fee.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Just wear your normal clothing but bring with you some lighter clothing such as shorts and t-shirt.  If you’re seeing a podiatrist please bring your normal shoes with you including those that you exercise in.

How long will I be with you?

Depending on what your treatment is and who is providing it treatments and consultations can range from 15 mins to upto an hour.  Please ask when booking your appointment. You also need to allow an extra 10 minutes to complete some paperwork if it is your first visit.

Do you have car parking?

Yes ,we have some parking on site plus there is street parking nearby. Because of the Christchurch rebuild work, please allow enough time to find a parking space.

Do you have bike stands?

Yes, we have two secure bike stands in our car park

What are your opening hours?

SportsMed is open from 8am – 6.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8am – 6pm Friday, and 9am – 12 midday Saturday. The Saturday clinic is available for acute sports injuries and pre-match taping .
