Dip Phys-Otago, Masters in Sports Physiotherapy from Curtin University in Australia (Perth)
Sharon trained in Otago and now has 22 years’ physiotherapy experience.
She has spent many years overseas firstly in the UK then the Middle East-Kuwait, then Perth, Australia.
Sharon is about to start her second vocational rehabilitation paper through Otago University, working towards a post graduate qualification.
Her paarticular work interests include netball, boxing, martial arts, equestrian, chronic pain and complex injuries as well as rehabilitation post-surgery/injury.
Sharon spends at least 50% of her clinic time doing vocational work which means work site assessments, return to work planning and gym rehabilitation programmes post-surgery or injury. These are primarily through ACC funded contracts.
She also plays a key role in mentoring new physiotherapists within SportsMed as part of our new graduate training and development programme.
And her spare time? Sharon has teenage triplets so time is at a premium but she does manage to squeeze in Tai Chi practice, she loves singing ,spends lots of time running with her dog as well as running around after her children!
