Nicola Handley is a University of Otago Physiotherapy graduate who initially started work in the New Zealand hospital system in 2002, switching over into private practice in 2005 while living and working in England. Nicola has continued in private practice since returning to New Zealand in 2008.
Nicola has a wealth of experience in treating all kinds of injuries both in athletes and non athletes alike and across all age ranges. While away in the UK Nicola attended an array of courses, making the most of international knowledge and this has given her a wide range of up-to-date treatment knowledge and skills. She has continued to up-skill since returning to New Zealand; training in the application of kinesio-tape, running efficiency and technique courses as well as exercise rehabilitation and prescription courses.
Nicola is a keen runner, mountain biker and skier. She has spent a ski season and mountain bike season working in the French Alps and since returning to New Zealand has competed in many of New Zealand’s amazing running and mountain bike events. In 2012 she was first woman in the Hanmer half Marathon and Marlborough half marathon. She set a woman’s record lap time for leg 3 of the Molesworth 4 person relay and got a personal best half marathon time at the Christchurch half marathon in 2012 of 1hour 22minutes.
