Medical Services - Our Team

Dr Rob Campbell - Medical Director/Sports Physician

Rob is a leader in the field of sports medicine in New Zealand. He has specialised for over 15 years and is
currently Medical Director for New Zealand Cricket and the Speights Coast-to-Coast.

 


 

Dr Deb Robinson - Sports Physician

Deb is the former All Blacks team doctor having recently handed over the reins to our very own Dr Tony Page.

Deb consults in all aspects of sports medicine and has a special interest in issues of children and women in sport.

 


 

Dr Tony Page - Specialist Sports Physician

Tony is a specialist sports physician just returned to Christchurch following 3 years of treating at the world renowned Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre, Melbourne.

Recently appointed team doctor to the All Blacks he has also worked with Collingwood Australian Rules FC, Canterbury RFC and the Crusaders.

Tony has a wealth of experience and enjoys working with athletes of all levels........recreational, professional, adults and children alike.

 


 

Dr Andrew Bell- Sports Medicine Practitioner

Andrew is from a general practice background but has a keen interest in sport at all levels. He is currently team doctor for Canterbury United FC having also supported Canterbury ITM rugby. 


 

Dr Lesley Nicol - Sports Medicine Practitioner

 



Dr John Hellemans - Sports Medicine Practitioner

We're delighted to see John return to our practice.

John has extensive experience with special interests including endurance sports, exercise and health, altitude training and stimulation, prolotherapy, compartment pressure studies.

John is also Head Coach for the Dutch Triathlon Team.

 

Dr Yaso Kathiravel - Sports Medicine Practitioner

 


 

Dr John Molloy - Sports Medicine Practitioner

John is a Registrar currently training in the Sport and Exercise Medicine Specialist Training Program. He is a University of Otago graduate. Prior to joining the SportsMed team he was an Army Doctor at Burnham Military Camp and deployed to Afghanistan. He is the doctor for the Canterbury ITM Cup rugby team. His personal interests include marathon running and Ironman Triathlon.

 


 

Nurse Chrissy Alps

Chrissy has been a valued staff member since its inception. She has a wealth of experience dealing with illness and injuries in athletes. This includes coverage of events in the field such as the Speights Coast-to-Coast, she has also been to the Athens Olympics and the Melbourne Commonwealth Games as nurse/administrator for the Health Team.

 


 

Nurse Pamela Mercer

Pamela has a strong interest in sport, and is an active runner and cyclist. Pamela completed her nurse training registration at Dunedin Hospital.

 


 

Nurse Mary Robinson

Mary works part-time to support our busy medical team. She has a wealth of experience including specialist infant care.
